We're an AI lab working to empower creatives to tell never-before-told stories.

Humans have always been captivated by stories. Our earliest ancestors told tales around campfires. We created the novel, The Iliad, The Odyssey, The Vedas, The Analects, and One Thousand and One Nights. We broadcast pivotal moments to millions on television. We crafted cinematic masterpieces that shaped us, and pioneered visual effects that transported us to far-away lands. We created Casablanca, 2001: A Space Odyssey, The Godfather, Star Wars, Schindler’s List, Jurassic Park, Toy Story, and Interstellar.

A new technology is emerging

With the rapid advancements in AI, we now see the earliest glimpses of an entirely new medium of entertainment. We call this interactive video—video you can both watch and interact with, imagined entirely by AI in real-time. It's something that looks like video you watch every day, but which you can interact and engage with in compelling ways (with your keyboard, phone, controller, and eventually audio). Consider it an early version of the Holodeck.

We're ready to bring this to life

Odyssey was founded by Oliver Cameron and Jeff Hawke, two veterans of self-driving cars and AI. Since then, they've recruited a world-class team of AI researchers from Waymo, Tesla, Meta, Cruise, Wayve, and Microsoft. To deliver on our mission, we've raised significant venture capital from GV, EQT Ventures, Air Street Capital, DCVC, Elad Gil, Garry Tan, Soleio, Jeff Dean, Kyle Vogt, Qasar Younis, Guillermo Rauch, Soumith Chintala, and researchers from OpenAI, DeepMind, Meta, and Midjourney. Ed Catmull, the founder of Pixar, serves on Odyssey’s board.
